About the Peacock Family Association

The Peacock Family Association of the South was originally conceived by Wesley Peacock, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, as a much smaller group, which he thought of as the descendants of Robert Peacock (1792-1861), his ancestor.

Since Robert has lived in the area of Thomasville, GA, he called for a meeting of the Peacocks in this area as a reunion group in June 1982. Because Robert had 20 children, it was necessary for him to advertise the reunion throughout Georgia and while he received responses from many of Robert's descendants, he found a much more widespread interest in Peacock roots from other groups.

As a result of this wider interest, it was decided at the first meeting to accept any Peacock looking for family roots and thus was born The Peacock Family Association. The addition "of the South" was not attached or the purpose of limiting the group, but because it was not known whether there were other Peacock Associations already in existence.

We now have over 240 Peacock families from 29 states who are members of our very unique family history organization.

If you are a Peacock, kin to a Peacock, a descendant from a Peacock or just interested in the Peacock family... you are more than welcome to join our genealogical family association.

The Welcome Mat is out for you to be one of the flock!
