This is a list of decendents from Samuel Peacock, 7th or more great grandfather of many of us.

John Peacock is the son of Samuel.
Simon I is the son of John.
Simon Jr. is the son of Simon I.

SIMON PEACOCK, JR. (1794-1837, son of Simon, grandson of John and Patience). Born Wayne County, NC. Died Wake County, NC, during planned move to Tennessee. Served in War of 1812. Married in 1818 to Elizabeth Dickinson (1795-1855), who settled in Guilford County, NC, and died there.

i. Silas Henry Peacock (1819-after 1870). Born Wayne County, NC, died probably Yadkin County, NC. Md. 1830, Guilford County, N.C., Irene Lancaster (1820-after 1860). Children: Mary E. (1841, md. John Cozart), Martha Matilda (l843, md. John Idol), Laura (1845, no further record), Sarah A. (1848, no further record), Elijah (1852), Elisha (1854-1942, md. Kate Kavana Dalton), Elias (1856-after 1900, md. Dora. L. Pfaff, moved to Indianapolis, Ind.), John H. (1858, pos. moved to Grayson County, VA), Rufus (1860), Emma (1862).

ii. William F. Peacock (1820-1914). Born Wayne County, NC, died Red River County, TX. Md. 1847, Stokes County, NC, Gylia Ann Ivey (1824-96). Moved to Indianapolis, IN, ca. 1859, Drew County, AR, 1869, back to Indianapolis by 1880; in the poor house there for 20 years; to Texas afterwards. Children: John W. (1849-1920, second wife Beulah), Narcissa (1851), James R. (1852-after 1910, wife Emma, lived Lafayette County, MS). William Theodore (1856-after 1900. Wife Angeline), Emily (1858), George A. (1863-after 1930, md. Polly Delia Cox, Lafayette County, MS, moved to Red River County, TX), Ida May (1865), Elmer Ellsworth (1867-1947, wife Floretta, settled Red River County, TX).

iii. Robert Peacock (1822-9l). Born Wayne County, NC, died Guilford County, NC. Md. 1853, Guilford County, Hannah Macy (1836-after 1862). Moved 1858 to Hamilton County, IN, then Carroll County, MO; after 1880, returned to Guilford County, NC Children: Mary J. (1856), Elisabeth (1859), Jabez Nelson (1862-after 1910. md. Mary Macy), plus others not known.

iv. Penelope Peacock (1824-after 1870). Born Wayne County, NC. Moved to Parke County, IN, after Civil War. Md. 1846, Guilford County, NC, James Scott. Children: Minerva J. (1847), Julia (1849), John (1851), William (1853), Sarah (1855), Alphus (1860).

v. Curtis Peacock (1826-after 1900). Born Wayne County, NC, died probably Parke County, IN. Md. 1848, Guilford County, NC, Polly Wheeler (1825-80’s). Moved to Montgomery County, IN, by 1860, Hancock County, by 1870, returned to Montgomery County by 1880, to Parke County by 1885. Md. Sarah Brock, 1885, Parke County, IN; Hannah Thomas, 1899, also in Parke County. Children: Sarah Emily (1849, md. a Pealy), Thomas Oliver (1852-1919, md. Caroline Bunker, Mary Farnsworth), William Franklin (1854), Elizabeth (1857), Penelope Jane (1860), Samuel (1862-after 1880), Silas J. (1864, wife Dora _____), James (1867), Edward (1873).

vi. Elizabeth Peacock (1828-after 1860). Born Wayne County, NC, md. 1846, Guilford County. NC, Jonathan Williams, moved to Indiana, 1856; Polk County, IA, 1858; possibly to Henry County, IN, after 1860. Children; Laura Jane (1849), Nelson M. (1850-1937, m. Louisa Gilbert), Sarah C. (1853), Andrew Jackson (1858).

v. James Peacock (1830). Born Wayne County, NC. Living with Scott family in 1860 in Guilford County; apparently died young.

7. PATIENCE PEACOCK (ca. 1796?). Married name, if any, not known.

8. ZILPHA PEACOCK: (ca 1798?). Married name, if any, not known.

9. WASHINGTON PEACOCK (1801-82). Born Wayne County, NC, died Crenshaw County, AL, Md. ca 1825-8 Zilpha Peacock (died 1841), dauGhts1’ or pos. granddaughter of Jesse Peacock (1747-1804). Moved by 1835 to Upson County, GA; ca. 1855 to Covington County, AL; after 1870 to Crenshaw County, Ala. Children:

i. Benajah F. (1826-62), Family account mentions a Benjamin F. Peacock, who served in Western theatre in Civil War and died in Union prison camp. Although Benajah shown as probable son of Raiford Peacock (p. 28), having lived with Caraway Barnes in 1850, moved to Coffee County, Ala., with Nathan B. Peacock by 1860, he could be missing “Benjamin,” as he did serve in Tennessee, and died in prison camp. if so, wife Dorcas J., daughter Amanda (1851) both dead without further issue by 1882, as no mention of any children of Benjamin or Benajah in Washington Peacock estate.

ii. Obedience Peacock (1829-72). Born Wayne County, NC., died Grimes County, TX. Md. 1846, Upson County, Ga., Andrew Jackson Kelly (c. 1825-90’s). Moved 1855, Covington County, AL; after 1860 to Grimes County, TX. Children: Sarah Minerva (1849-80’s, md. George V. Olive), Martha Elisabeth (1851-1918, md. Marion Willis Rogers), Missouri E. (1854-after 1914, md. Prank M. Andrews), Gideon Peacock (1858-1929, md. Mariah A. Mullins

iii. Martha Peacock (1835-96). Born Upson County, GA., died Crenshaw County, AL; never married,

iv. Gideon James Peacock (1837-1913). Born Upson County, Ga., died New York. NY. Lived most of life in Columbus, Ga. Md. Anne Virginia Josephine Banks (1844-1906). Children; Sarah Watkins (1874-1957, md. Samuel Kelly Dimon), Elberta (1877-1965, md. Robert Dougherty Leonard), James Gideon (1881-1916, never md.), John Banks (1884-1930, nd. Glennie Mae Fortson).

v. Malinda Virginia (1839-1902). Born Upson County, Ga., died Covington County, AL. Md. ca. 1858 Abraham Olive (ca. 1830-80’s). Children: Mary (1859-1911, md. W. Angus
Meek, died Birmingham, AL), Martha F. (1861-1946, md. John P. Kolb, died Chattanooga, TN).

10. MICHAEL PEACOCK. No dates known. Mentioned in Simon Peacock’s will, loaning 50 acres of land. No further mention; perhaps he was infirm.
